The manner in which we align with the FAIR guidelines are outlined below:
Findability

Data hosted in the public Paleomagnetism.org library is freely searchable through metadata (e.g. geographical coverage, specimen age). All data submitted are assigned persistent identifiers that unique identify a particular publication, collection, specimen, or single interpretation in the library.

Accessibility

All data submitted to the library can be downloaded from the web interface, or directly through the HTTPS API. We commit resources and guarantee that data submitted to the library will remain accessible for the foreseeable future.

Interoperability

The HTTPS API is based on the widely adopted HTTPS protocol which means it can be integrated with other software applications that pull data from our repository, or larger pan-European research infrastructures (e.g. EPOS). Specimen metadata also follows semantic vocabularies defined by the MagIC consortium to facilitate integration and interoperability.

Reusability

Since data provenance are included with the submitted data, older published data can be directly re-used at a later time. The data library accepts raw demagnetization data from which all other data are derived, and thus provides the ultimate case of reusability.
